Peace gets re-certified in Quality Management Systems

Peace Security chief executive officer Abel Mubango.

PEACE Security Company has been re-certified under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System by the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (Saz), underlining the company’s goal  to maintain best practices.

Peace got its first certification in 2010. During the re-certification ceremony in Harare yesterday, Peace Security chief executive officer Abel Mubango said the importance of re-certification extended beyond merely receiving the certificate from Saz.

“We have recognised that each Saz audit has enabled us to enhance the way we implement, track and review business processes, thereby improving our overall performance,” he said.

He said such improvements had allowed the firm to meet the ever-growing and changing demands of customers and stakeholders in the security industry, including regulatory authorities and the public.

“Since our initial certification to the Quality Management Standard in 2010, we have ensured that all our departments work diligently to maintain the certificate after each annual surveillance audit and the three-yearly re-certification audits, as required by the standard,” Mubango said.

“The ISO 9001:2015 standard has helped us to find solutions to various intricate challenges facing the private security sector in Zimbabwe. We have focused on strategic planning at the organisational level and operational planning at the departmental level.

“Our business growth strategies have ensured our continued survival in a highly competitive sector. We conduct customer surveys twice a year to identify customer requirements, manage business risks to mitigate their effects, and expand our electronic security services to complement physical guards.”

He said Peace prioritised the strategic procurement of essential goods and services and had developed staff motivation strategies to improve efficiency.

Standards Association of Zimbabwe director-general Cosmus Mukoyi commended the company for its commitment to international best practices and ability to assess risks and implement effective security protocols to protect clients.

“This marks 14 years and 6 months since Peace Security received its first certification to ZWS ISO 9001. Over the years, you have undergone re-certification as part of your certification cycles, demonstrating a significant commitment to maintaining international best practices,” he said.

“Your performance and passion for excellence are evident today through this certificate. By achieving certification as the world’s most sought-after management system, you are elevating your organisation and setting a benchmark for others to follow. ISO 9001:2015 has over 2 million organisations certified globally.”
