CHUNDU, Feb 24 (NewsDay Live) – A Hurungwe triple murder suspect, Trymore Tore (37), has been arrested.
Tore was finally arrested late Sunday after almost a week on the run following the alleged murders on February 16 at Mubairecheni Village under Chief Chundu in Hurungwe.
He was arrested in the rural area under Chief Chundu, about 70km north of Karoi town as he sought food.
An alert villager accommodated him, promising to prepare some food for him but then alerted his neighbours to his presence.
Seeing that he had been cornered, Tore tried to slit his own throat.
He was overpowered, arrested and later briefly admitted at Chitindiva Clinic under police guard late Sunday night.
He will be assisting the police with investigations before being arraigned.
