The matter only came to light when one of the suspects was found collecting a crate of the "wise waters" from the tunnel,  but managed to escape.

HARARE, Feb 19 (NewsDayLive) - Some thirsty thieves have allegedly been siphoning beer from the National Breweries Southerton plant through a tunnel linked to a stormwater drain.

The matter only came to light when one of the suspects was found collecting a crate of the "wise waters" from the tunnel,  but managed to escape.

Delta spokesperson Patricia Murambinda confirmed the incident when contacted for comment Wednesday.

"We note that there was an attempt to access our brewery premises at Southerton using a stormwater drain. The culprits were not apprehended. Investigations on the motive are ongoing," she said.
