Harare man in trouble for demanding tête-à-tête with ED

Fungai Mukamba was remanded in custody to February 24 for routine appearance after the court on Monday ordered that he be mentally examined.

HARARE, Feb 10 (NewsDayLive) - A 25-year-old man from Mhimha Close, Budiriro 2, has appeared in court on a disorderly conduct charge after he allegedly stormed into the New Parliament building in Mt Hampden last week demanding a tête-à-tête with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Fungai Mukamba was remanded in custody to February 24 for routine appearance after the court on Monday ordered that he be mentally examined.

Prosecutor Dzidzai Josiah told the court that on February 6 this year, Mukamba went to the August House demanding audience with the Head of State.

The State alleges that Mukamba became violent after being denied entry, leading to his arrest.
