HARARE, Feb 5 (NewsDay Live) - President Emmerson Mnangagwa has endorsed the United States government's decision to deport over 500 undocumented Zimbabweans illegally staying in that country.
“The Government of Zimbabwe supports the United States Government’s decision to repatriate and return our Zimbabwean citizens who may have been residing in the US illegally,” Mnangagwa posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
An estimated 545 Zimbabweans might soon be deported as Trump's administration cracks down on illegal immigrants.
The Zimbabweans add to the 1 445 549 non-citizens delegated for deportation last November under the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement programme.
