
HARARE - Feb 3 (NewsDay Live) - Police in Kadoma have arrested two members of an apostolic sect for allegedly killing a fellow resident after he blocked them from sprinkling 'holy ashes' in the area.
The deceased was identified as Shepherd Mphofu (48).
According to police, the accused Misheck Muperiwa (22) and Constain Tshuma (28), killed Mphofu in Mupamombe Phase 1 high-density suburb on January 31 following a brawl over the use of what they called "holy ashes".
In an unrelated matter, police said they recently arrested a suspect linked to several cases of theft of ZESA copper cables in Harare, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland Central provinces.
The suspect was arrested at Arcturus Mine after being found tampering with an armoured cable.
