AS the country experiences more technological advancements, a local money remittance firm, Moozacash, has taken grocery shopping to the WhatsApp platform.
According to the company's chief executive officer Tatenda Muzariri, a market research revealed that most people spend 80% of their time on WhatsApp.
“What we are doing is taking business to where the people are. You can buy your groceries on our WhatsApp platform and then we deliver them to wherever you are in the country,” he said.
“Because with the platform, one can even purchase from South Africa or UK, or anywhere in the world and we will deliver the groceries.”
Muzariri added that they were able to rope in Paynow, PayPal, InnBucks as well as ZimSwitch as modes of payment and were engaging more paying agents.
Said Muzariri: “We are starting with groceries now, where there is a chatbox as the customer interface. The WhatsApp number is with a catalogue where shoppers can easily pick the groceries they want and make their payment. The groceries will be delivered at their doorsteps.”
