TWO residents of Harare’s Hopley settlement have appeared in court for allegedly assaulting a suspected thief to death.
Magistrate Dennis Mangosi on Monday advised the two, Elias Zola (53) and Gabriel Manyowa (32) to approach the High Court for bail.
Allegations are that on December 29, 2023, the duo effected a citizen's arrest on the now-deceased Tichaona Choto and heavily assaulted him accusing him of stealing some property.
The court heard that when Moyo became unconscious, the accused aallegedly stripped him naked and dumped his body at a house in Hopley Zone 5.
Police investigations led to the arrest of the duo.
