A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been sentenced to nine years in jail for illegal possession of unmarked raw ivory.
A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been sentenced to nine years in jail for illegal possession of unmarked raw ivory.
The court was told that on February 15 officers from the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority received a tip-off to the effect that Qondisani Ncube together with his accomplices were in possession of ivory and looking for buyers.
His accomplices are still at large.
Investigating officers pretended to be buyers and apprehended Ncube while his accomplices managed to make good their escape.
