BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO A CHITUNGWIZA duo was arraigned before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje to answer to a charge of armed robbery involving US$38 620.
Kudzanai Charuka (32) and Conrad Zuva (30) were remanded in custody to September 5 for provision of trial date.
The duo was advised to approach High Court for bail application.
Circumstances are that on June 5, 2022 at around 1840 hours, the duo, in full police riot uniform, approached a security guard and requested to see the owner of the house.
The guard opened the gate and suddenly, other accomplices wearing civilian attire came in from different directions and manhandled him and force-marched him into the house.
The robbers then ordered everyone to lie down and assaulted them with iron bars while demanding cash.
They ransacked the house and stole US$28 400 as well as mobile phones and left the complainants tied in the sitting room.
