
POPULAR dancehall crooner Winky D will next month headline the Pacific Byo Shutdown 9th Edition alongside the princess of amapiano, Uncle Waffles.
The event will take place on April 26 at Queens Sport Ground in Bulawayo.
Known for belting out hits and a strong stage presence, Winky D remains the fans’ favourite.
Early this month, he took home the prestigious National Arts Merits Awards 2025 People’s Choice Award, a testament to his popularity and talent, which resulted in the fans voting for him as their favourite artiste.
Born Wallace Chirumiko, Winky D is making waves with his recently released extended play (EP) titled Pabho, which came out without any prior promotion.
There are six tracks on the EP: PaTonaz, Siya, Kudhakwa, Fake Love, Zvatanga and Pabho.
The Siya music video surpassed one million views on YouTube just a week after its release.
On the other hand, Uncle Waffles (24), born Lungelihle Zwane, noted for her brilliant works in the amapiano genre and her dance abilities, with Billboard describing her as the “princess of amapiano”, will also perform on the “unforgettable night”.

Uncle Waffles is a Swazi DJ and record producer based in South Africa.
Others from South Africa, who will take part at the gig include DJ Tira, Emtee, Nasty C, Zee Nxumalo and Eemoh.
From Zimbabwe, there will be Killer T, Asaph, Enzo Ishall, DJ Tamuka, Oriyano, Bazooker, Ash T, DJ Eugy, Prince Eskhosini, Boy Nino, Mzoe 7 as well as MadeHerBelieve.
Fans will have to part with US$15 for the ordinary ticket, US$40 for the VIP and US$70 to gain entry to the VVIP section.
