THROUGH his innovative organisation, Asher Konnect, social entreprenuer Gracious Moyo is revolutionising the way secondary school learners make career choices and navigate the challenges of young adulthood through conducting seminars and workshops.
Moyo told NewsDay Life & Style that these seminars help learners to make informed decisions about their future careers.
“You can be Form 1 and yet clueless on what to do. Many learners go through challenges when it comes to choosing careers,” he said.
“We need to start telling them now that if you want to be a doctor, you have to do sciences and so forth.
“We explain to them what they actually need to do.”
Added Moyo: “We also help them to manoeuvre challenges such as pregnancy at school through counselling, failing examinations and also give guidance to those who want to start businesses soon after school.
“We teach them things to do with how to obtain funding.”
Moyo said the seminars targeted the youths who were still in school, both secondary and tertiary and school drop- outs.
