Cubbicky does it again with a fire banger

TSHOLOTSHO-BASED rapper, Preside Sympathy Ndlovu

TSHOLOTSHO-BASED rapper, Preside Sympathy Ndlovu popularly known by his stage name Cubbicky, has dropped another hit track titled Ixesha Lami featuring the iconic dancehall figure Breeze Sox.

The lyricist says the production phase of the hit track was enjoyable and that his fans received the song quite well.

Cubbicky recently dropped the music video for the track which was shot in Dombo village in Tsholotsho, saying he wanted to showcase the rural setting he comes from.

The song is motivational, with lyrics such as “I don’t feel the pressure noma intanga zami ziphumelela (even though my peers are succeeding). What I know is that it’s not my time now, I know . . . lizofika ixesha lami (my time will come)”.

The word master said  the song Ixesha Lami spoke to youths who are inclined to give up when their peers succeed before them.

Cubbicky advised youths not to feel pressure as their time will come, hence the title Ixesha Lami meaning “my time”.

“I have worked with Breeze Sox previously, which made things easier because I am familiar with him and his sound,” he said.

“We worked together on Magazine alongside Icey T, Tvpeal, Dash Arty and Bazooker.”

Cubbicky said he wanted to incorporate the Shona language into the song, which is in English and Ndebele.

“Music has no boundaries. The same thing that I go through here may happen to someone else who is in say Mashonaland,” he told NewsDay Life & Style.

He said he dreamt of working with Gemma Griffiths “as I have always loved her sound”.

Cubbicky said the song was available on digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, Audiomack and Apple Music.
