TOP artistes Winky D and Jah Prayzah took time to pay tribute to the late singer and rapper Garry Mapanzure during their performances at the Kadoma Music Festival on Saturday night.
Jah Prayzah was the first of the two to perform, clad in a white T-shirt with Mapanzure's face on it.
The Afro-jazz singer also wore a black armband which signifies mourning or commemoration of a late friend, family member or colleague.
Winky D came in the wee hours of Sunday, performed his old and recent hits and capped his performance with Hatiperekedzane, a song which urges people to love each other while still living.
The inaugural Kadoma Music Festival also saw performances from Alick Macheso, Makhadzi, DJ Tira, and Hwinza.
Mapanzure (25), who was laid to rest on Sunday at Lawn Cemetery in Masvingo, succumbed to injuries sustained in a horrific car accident on Thursday last week in Clipsham Heights suburb along the Beitbridge Highway in Masvingo.
Great Zimbabwe University law student and Mapanzure’s friend Langton Madima (27) who was driving a Mazda Demio also died on the spot.
Mapanzure’s sister Margret Zigomo, was admitted in Masvingo Provincial Hospital, while her child died on the spot and her friend Respina Machokoto was also admitted in hospital.
