Econet puts up impressive, immersive stand at ZITF 2025

The Econet stand at ZITF

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has put up a highly impressive and immersive stand at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), unveiling a futuristic stand that demonstrates the company’s trailblazing role in innovation, digital connectivity and technological empowerment.

Towering in Hall 4, the double-storey exhibition space is a striking blend of cutting-edge technology and immersive experiences, reflecting Econet’s continued leadership in Zimbabwe’s fast-evolving digital economy.

From the outset, visitors are greeted by transparent LED screens wrapped around the stand’s façade, dynamically displaying this year’s ZITF theme, “Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Economic Landscape.” The eye-catching visuals symbolise how digital transformation is now at the heart of Zimbabwe’s economic future.

Above the stand, kinetic LED balls move in synchronised rhythms, underlining the stand’s futuristic feel. Along the sides, digital walls offer real-time data visualisations, interactive augmented reality (AR) experiences, and live demonstrations of Econet’s latest products and innovative solutions.

A major crowd-puller at the stand is Yamurai, Econet’s AI-powered customer service chatbot, brought to life as a life-sized hologram. Yamurai engages with visitors in real-time, answering questions and showcasing the potential of generative AI to transform customer service in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Nearby, EcoChat, another AI chatbot developed by Econet, is drawing strong interest from students, developers, and professionals. The chatbot impresses with its ability to help users conduct research, or even compose essays, all while allowing users to tailor tone, detail, and language—making it a powerful educational and productivity tool.

Another highlight is a 3D printing and smart manufacturing machine, powered by Econet’s ultra-fast 5G network. The live demo shows how 5G is revolutionising industrial design, enabling rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing in real time.

Visitors, especially the young and young-at-heart, are also lining up to experience hyper-realistic virtual reality simulations, with VR headsets transporting them into immersive gaming and educational adventures.

“This stand is more than an exhibition – it represents a vision of what’s possible when innovation meets purpose,” said an visitor to the stand.

“From AI to 5G, they are building an ecosystem that empowers businesses, students, farmers, and everyday Zimbabweans to thrive in a connected world,” he said.

Beyond futuristic tech, the stand also highlights Econet’s breadth of services that are already transforming lives across Zimbabwe.

EcoCash, the country’s leading mobile money platform, now integrated with cross-border payments and merchant solutions, is one of the services being exhibited at the stand, together with EcoSure, Moovah and Maisha Health.

Akello, an education platform featuring a digital library stocked with books for learners, is also featured prominently, offering a look at how digital learning is reshaping education access in Zimbabwe.

On the energy front, Econet’s renewable energy arm, Distributed Power Africa (DPA), is presenting off-grid solar solutions designed for homes, schools, clinics, and small businesses—supporting the national drive toward sustainable and clean energy.

A sleek tech hub within the stand also showcases the latest smartphones from Samsung, Huawei, Astro and Itel, with product specialists available to walk visitors through features and functionality.
