THE Heart Stadium hosts an epic uniformed forces battle as army side Black Rhinos hosts their airforce counterparts Chapungu Queens in a Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League (ZWPSL) Week 13 clash this morning.

Chapungu are riding high on the summit of the 16-team log table with 33 points from 12 matches.

They have lost only once this season and boasts of a goal difference of 46 goals.

Returning Chapungu marksman, Rudo Neshamba, is among the top scorers for the month of June.

She scored three goals and has been constantly finding herself within the overall leading goal scorers chat this season.

Herentals’ Praynance Zwawanda is currently leading the June goalscoring charts with six goals, while Faith Drive Academy duo of Bethel Kondo and Anita Ncube have scored four goals each in June.

Harare City’s Macgirl Sipini and Mitchel John also scored four goals each, while Trinity Mutauri of Harare City and Herentals’ Maud Mafuruse both bagged three goals each in June.

But the player of the month has been shared between Kondo and Cranborne Royals’ Mariah Mero who both have been in phenomenal form.

Black Rhinos, with a galaxy of stars, will be hoping to use their ground experience and gore the tricky bird, Chapungu.

Rhinos are in fourth place with 26 points.

ZWPSL outgoing board member competitions, Arthur Gorejena, said matches like these define what the league is all about.

“It's always exciting when the tempo rises to this stage, never easy to predict the outcome of matches of this nature and the only place where the answer lie is at the Heart Stadium so we encourage fans to come and witness nothing but the best of ZWPSL,” he said.

“Every match served by the ZWPSL is a potential thriller and those in Gweru are privileged to witness their own Sheasham hosts log leaders.”

In the other ZWPSL match scheduled for this morning, Sheasham Gweru Queens host third-placed Correctional Queens at Bata Stadium in Gweru.

Correctional Queens are currently on cloud nine having produced the goalkeeper of the month of June courtesy of their shot-stopper Chido Dzingirai and coach of the month which went to their experienced gaffer Tsitsi Shiri.

Weekend action continues with five matches lined up tomorrow.
