A 32-year-old suspected rapist from Chief Masendu appeared before Plumtree magistrate Josha Nembaware facing rape charges.

Allegations are that on August 7, the accused proceeded to the complainant's place of residence, removed his tennis shoes and walked barefooted to a hut where she was sleeping.

He allegedly forced entry into the room and found the complainant sleeping with three juvenile girls.

The court heard that the suspect proceeded to where the complainant was sleeping and got into her blankets, removed her underpants and forcibly had anal sexual intercourse with her once.

The complainant woke up in panic screaming to alert the juveniles and her parents sleeping in the other room.

However, the accused fled leaving his tennis shoes and speaker box outside the complainant's hut.

The accused footprints were traced to his place of residence leading to his arrest.

The accused confessed that he was the one who had entered the complainant's hut to commit the crime.
