
Police in Bulawayo on Thursday arrested a local man who was found with a stash of crystal meth at his house as the operation targeting drug lords intensifies.
Tigors Tyron Seigfried (39) was arrested at a house in Matsheumhlophe.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Tigors Tyron Seigfried in connection with unlawful possession of 1 900 grammes of crystal meth,” police said in a statement.
“The drugs were found in the suspect’s house along Chelmsford Rd, Matsheumhlope, Bulawayo”
Known scientifically as methamphetamine, crystal meth is a highly addictive stimulant used for its powerful euphoric effects.
The government recently said 9 527 had been arrested in the crackdown against drugs and substance abuse between September 2024 and January 2025.
Of those arrested, 616 were suppliers and 8 911 were end users while 79 illegal bases were also destroyed during the same period.
