
THIS year’s Chibuku Road to Fame provincial competitions for Midlands and naland West are on tomorrow at Speedway Bar in Kadoma, according to Irimayi Muzorewa, the marketing director for Delta Beverages.
This year, Chibuku Road to Fame commemorates the silver jubilee, a celebration of 25 years of discovering musical talent in addition to its 62nd anniversary of excellent brewing.
Each of the six paired provinces auditions 20 musical groups, where the winning three bands walk away with cash prizes, with the first prize being US$2 500, the second getting US$1 500, while the third is US$1 000.
The first prize winners from all the 10 provinces of the country shall compete in the national finals at a date and venue to be announced after all provinces adjudicate their finalists.
The national final prizes are as follows: US$15 000 plus a recording contract for the first prize, followed by US$10 000 for the second prize and US$7 000 for the third prize.
The competitions will run under the theme Celebrating 25 Years of Discovering Talent!

“As the country’s leading music talent search, this year’s edition marks a major milestone in nurturing local artistry and giving aspiring musicians a platform to shine.

“This jubilee, the Chibuku brand and National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, celebrate unforgettable music, unforgettable moments and unforgettable stars.
“This year’s edition promises an exciting lineup of provincial competitions across the country, bringing communities together through music and offering Chibuku a unique way to engage with its consumers.
“Key offerings Chibuku Road to Fame will run from August 23 to October 4, 2025 under the theme 25 Years of Discovering Talent.”
Added the statement: “This year, there will be a slight change in how we run the programme. To make the competition even more exciting, the provincial finals have been joined to make them six in
total.
“The joint provincial finals will have 20 groups in total. The results for the first province to perform will be announced before moving on to the next provincial performances. From each provincial competition, three winners will be selected.
“The top performers from the provincial finals will earn their spot in the national grand finale, where the country’s top 10 will compete for the ultimate title.”

In the past, 911 band, The Way, Mokoomba, Club Shanga, Munandi Express, Terry and Bliss, Romeo Gasa and plenty others won the Chibuku Road to Fame national first prize and up until now, continue to ride on this success.
After the Chibuku Road to Fame provincial competitions in the Midlands and Mashonaland West tomorrow, the celebrations continue every other weekend.
Matabeleland North has its provincial rivalries on August 30 at the Chinotimba Beerhall in Victoria Falls.
Bands from Bulawayo and Matebeleland South compete on September 6 at the KoNjabulo Beerhall in Bulawayo.
Mashonaland East and Manicaland bands converge for their races on September 13 at the Pagomo Leisure Gardens in Marondera.
The Masvingo province bands meet on September 13 at the Hightown Night Club in Nyika.
And finally, Harare and Mashonaland Central meet on September 20 at Makuluwani Bar in Whitehouse, Harare.
Delta Beverages will announce the dates for the Chibuku Road to Fame national finals when the lists of 10 winners from all the provinces has been confirmed.
