GOSPEL music sensations Janet Manyowa, Bonnie Deuschle and the Hear the Word Choir are set to uplift spirits and ignite hearts as they open the stage for the internationally-acclaimed CeCe Winans at the More Than This Show, happening on August 26 at the Celebration Centre in Borrowdale, Harare.

Known for her rich vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Manyowa brings a powerful blend of worship and praise that resonates deeply with both local and global audiences.

Deuschle, founder and leader of the Celebration Choir, is celebrated for her emotive performances and soul-stirring melodies, while the Hear the Word Choir is renowned for its energetic harmonies and dynamic stage presence that never fail to stir the atmosphere into vibrant worship.

Lyncolin Kapswara, event director at Events by GEC, the organisers of the concert, said the inclusion of Deuschle and Manyowa brought a uniquely Zimbabwean depth to the evening.

“Bonnie Deuschle has been a cornerstone of Zimbabwean worship music for decades and her leadership with the Celebration Choir has touched countless lives,” he said.

“Janet Manyowa represents a new generation of gospel excellence, with her music resonating far beyond our borders.

“Having them minister alongside CeCe Winans creates a powerful blend of heritage, innovation and faith that audiences can expect to be both uplifting and unforgettable.”

Kapswara added that the concert was designed to offer more than music and would not be just about performances, but also about creating an atmosphere of worship and inspiration that transcends cultures and generations.

Manyowa, a multi-award-winning gospel musician, is popular for songs such as Amazing God, Ndomira Pamuri and Mubatsiri.

A fantastic performer in her own right, she is expected to spiritually uplift and warm the congregation ahead of CeCe Winans.

Deuschle, a Zimbabwean pastor and musician who authored the book The Great Connection which has since been translated to French, is married to Tom Deuschle and together, they founded the Celebration Ministries International.

Deuschle and the Celebration Choir have over the years produced music albums which include Change the World (Live) (2006), Change the World (2007), Yahweh (2012), God Is In This Place (2014), One True Lord (2015) and Seven Times a Day (2016).

CeCe Winans’ music is characterised by its rich blend of traditional gospel, contemporary Christian and soul influences.

Her powerful voice and heartfelt lyrics resonate deeply with audiences worldwide, addressing themes of faith, hope and love.

Over the years, she has evolved artistically, embracing various musical styles while staying true to her gospel roots.

Her live albums, in particular, showcase her dynamic stage presence and ability to connect with audiences at a profound level.

Her discography includes Alone in His Presence (1995), Everlasting Love (1998), Alabaster Box (1999), Purified (2005), Let Them Fall in Love (2017), Believe for It (2021) and More Than This (2024).

Audiences can expect an unforgettable experience filled with world-class gospel rhythms, heavenly harmonies and a divine encounter that transcends the ordinary.

With these three acts setting the tone, the night promises to be more than a concert, it will be a revival, a celebration and a worship explosion all in one.

As the countdown to August 26 begins, gospel lovers are urged to be expectant and ready to be united in Christ through music.
