
BULAWAYO, July 2 (NewsDay Live) -Zimbabwean hip-hop sensation Calvin Mangena, affectionately known as the Ndebele Prince, has once again proven why he's one of the top musicians in the country.
His latest single, "Ngiyavuma," featuring Chillmaster, has taken the airwaves by storm, racking up nearly 40 000 views on Yourself in just a day.
Speaking to NewsDay Live exclusively,Calvin Mangena revealed that the song's inspiration came from his own experiences with love.
“The time I came up with the song, I was courting a lady, and every time I saw her, I'd get tongue-tied and run out of words," he confessed.
“So, I wrote it down and took it to Eternity Studio, where I collaborated with Talics, Golden Fingers, and Leeroy."
The track's creation was a seamless process of collaboration and creativity, he said, with Chillmaster adding his verse after Mangena sent him the track.
“I remembered that he had promised me a verse in my next work so I sent him what we had cooked.The following day, he had done his part, and it was magic," Mangena said.
The music video for "Ngiyavuma" showcases the breathtaking scenery of Vumba in Mutare, promoting local tourism.
