Zembe hits four as Herentals Queens rout Mpopoma 5-0

LYNETTE Zembe scored four goals as Herentals Queens beat Mpopoma Sports Academy 5-0 in a Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League midweek fixture played at Bulawayo Chiefs Village on Wednesday.

The reigning champions raced into a 3-0 lead inside 14 minutes. Zembe opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Praynance Zvawanda doubled the advantage two minutes later. Zembe added her second in the 14th minute to make it 3-0.

The score remained unchanged through to half-time, with Mpopoma trailing 0-3 at the break.

Herentals made a double change at the start of the second half, with Lindiwe Magwede and Morelife Nyagumbo replacing Cynthia Shonga and Winnie Mapuwa.

The hosts were reduced to 10 players after their goalkeeper was shown a straight red card for handling outside the box.

Zembe completed her hat-trick following a Natasha Benza assist to make it 4-0, before adding a fourth goal in the 86th minute to seal the 5-0 result.
