The album which was launched last week has been on rotation on national radio stations. POY told Southern Eye Lifestyle that his latest offering was creative.
“The name Blood Money Jacob is creative and far from the usual hip-hop album titles,” he said.
“Jacob is a character throughout the album and blood money is usually associated with underhand deals.
“This album was inspired by a deal with a local pastor whom I trusted with some money only to find out the clergyman had run away with the money.
“That is how I came up with an idea to create an album based on real life situations.”
The 12-track album features tracks such as Sola Sola which is in the Power FM’s school of hip-hop top-10 charts, Dirty Game, Hell I’m In featuring Mzoe 7, Tabloids and The Range featuring Calvin, among others.

“Sola Sola is a summer time anthem and is already making a lot of noise,” POY said.
“Tabloids is another track which specifically questions the media and journalism in Zimbabwe in terms of the way artistes are portrayed.
“There is also the mellow song Hell I’m In, which is a very realistic track that features Mzoe 7 and Prozac.
“The song about Rangemore (a settlement on the outskirts of Bulawayo) which is called The Range will change Zimbabwean hip-hop forever.’
“I like the variety nand difference in each track on the album. I worked with Calvin, Blaze con H.D, The Munchies, P2daoh and L.A Josh.
“They all worked hard to put their best efforts in the music on the album.”
POY becomes one of the few artistes to have their music on international online music stores.
“I intend to take local music to greater heights and set international standards,” he says confidently.
“That’s why we came up with the iTunes deal. It will help us as artistes financially and help in the establishment of new projects that we intend to come up with in the near future.”
The hip-hop artiste took his album to Harare last Saturday where he performed alongside Bulawayo disc jockey DJ Dash Zimbabwe.
POY has five albums to his name, among them 15 Minutes of Fame and Babylon System.
He won the people’s choice award at the first Zimbabwe Hip-hop Awards in 2011 and was nominated for best hip-hop artiste at last year’s awards.
