HWANGE right-back Erick Chipeta says he wants to score and give Hwange maximum points against Dynamos on Sunday at the Colliery and pay tribute to the club that carved his career before he leaves for South Africa to join Absa Premier Soccer League returnées Chippa United.

Chipeta, who joined Hwange from Zifa Northern Region One side DStv Rangers in 2012, yesterday said he wanted to thank everyone at Hwange and there was no better way than give them three points against league champions Dynamos.

“It is a good thing that I am leaving when we play Dynamos. It’s probably one of my last games and I would like to thank everybody at Hwange who have made me the player that I am now,” Chipeta said.

“It is sad that I am leaving Hwange which had become home to me and what I want to do on Sunday is to score and make sure Hwange collect three points as a big thank you to the fans, my teammates and everybody else who was around me all the time I have been here.”

The Warriors defender has been instrumental in Hwange’s survival in top-flight football in the last two seasons, joining them in 2012 for their Caf Confederation Cup campaign and has been on the radar of several local clubs including giants Highlanders, Dynamos and FC Platinum.

He has attracted the attention of South African clubs going for trials at Pretoria University (AmaTuks) in February.

Hwange and Dynamos are on 19 points each, just one behind leaders Highlanders and Chipeta said it would be great to leave the coal miners at the top and that is highly possible.
